  2. Ugh. That's what downtown in our town looks like right now and it is NOT fun to wait in the traffic. I've no idea what on earth they are digging for...

  3. Probably digging one of those 'holes to China' that I heard about in childhood.

  4. Wow, it looks like somebody is spending a ton of money. Jobs like that are an engineer's nightmare. At least for this engineer.

  5. Holy cow! So not fun to walk and drive around.

  6. Cloudia made me laugh, that's something Letterman would say

Jeffrey told me they're creating a nightmare for the phone co. cables and he's crossing his fingers that he doesn't get called back there.

  7. Hmmmm, that has grown to be one massive project!
    Wonder what they're doing there...

  8. Love this. With the exception of the first photo it looks like a lot of safety meetings; nobody moves no one gets hurt! Happens here all the time! :)

  9. Looks like a project that got out of hand. I'll bet this is a real pia for New Yorkers.

  10. I agree with Dianne about Cloudia's comment. There must be, at the very least, a hot dog vendor, a coffee cart, and someone selling pretzels on the fringes of the construction.
I'm sure you're having a wonderful time, wish I were there. LOL

  11. I suspect they will not have that cleaned up by the time the expected rain arrives tonight and tomorrow. It doesn't make getting from one spot to another very easy. We had a similar project going on on Main Street in my one-horse town...insanity getting through town but it did make for a better intersection. The weekend is upon us!!!

  12. Oh, gee, what exactly are they doing? Here in Seattle there's been work on one main street downtown, its freeway entrances, etc. and it's havoc. Due to continue for some time. They call it the Mercer Mess.

  13. HOLY COW! What a mess! and yet all I could think was, "I didn't know there were Walgreen stores in NYC!" I really need to get out more!!

  14. I read somewhere that the powers that be are redesigning Times Square...could it be true?
