Did you fall into the river gettingthis shot.... the textures are pixel perfect.
So many interesting colors , the tide must have been low so you could see all the variations.
Great shot. Makes me want to reach out and touch! My WW: Stacked
Love the contrast in colors from top to bottom, almost mimics the cycle of life. You start off young and vibrant and end up covered in barnacles.
I love the colors.....
Did you come to Mathews to take that shot and not tell anyone???
Beautiful colors on the wood; seem to be the color of rust and algae.
Great pic for a magazine! :) The Bach
Popped over from Smitten and what a nice selection she has chosen. You have, obviously, a wonderful camera and eye for photography. Sure would love to put that in watercolors. BlessingsQMM
That is so colourful Daryl, it's a great shot!
NYC has everything! Love this;)

I LOVE this photo! It reminds me of taking the ferry to visit family when I was a kid. I just love everything about it, the color, the clarity, the composition... The 3 C's!

I can hear the water sloshing back and forth between the pylons. Lovely.
Seeing the title I hesitated, thinking 'more shots of the Manhatton Skyline'. So glad I came over from Smitten Images- truly wonderful textures and colours.
Very nice! Reminds me how we all need to band together in support of one another if we are to be strong and steadfast in this the world.

Nice details. Where was this taken?Piers/moorings make for great photographic subjects. I have a lot from here in SF, and a few from NYC as well.
It is quite an engineering feat to get those poles to stay in the water and to support them for strength. The colors are so wonderful with all of it's variety. Nice shot.
wonderful photo. I really enjoy the colors and textures in this.
What a great shot with every kind of texture. Makes me wonder how old that wood is. Bueno!

Well, hey, congrats on the POTW listing! Well-deserved, of course!
Just occurs to me, being a subway nut and all. You didn't get that shot through the window of the Far Rockaway train while on the trestle over Jamaica Bay, did you? Probably not - you wouldn't have had the clarity through one of those windows. Just a thought I had, though.
Daryl, this shot is fantastic! I love the colours and the contrast!
There's some history in those polls.
Who knew wood could be so many different colors. Good eye to catch that.
Ooo, I love this! Great texture and colors... :) Silke

Good eye!! Honestly, I'm not just impressed with the talent of photographers, but the ability to pick images out of the every day world, isolate them, and somehow render them more beautiful. It's like a type of magic, making the world much prettier. Congratulations on the post of the week mention over at Hilary's :-)
Picture perfect ~ again! Frame it!
