man's best friend

last week
i saw this guy and his dog
enter the subway at 72nd street

i was surprised the pup wasnt in a carrier
after all the subway is not exactly
dog friendly

there are a lot of people
people with suitcases
people with all manner of bags
lots of legs
lots of feet

dogs would be right in the middle of it

when i posted this on instagram
a few commenters wondered if that was a service dog

i dont know
 the guy standing
the wheelchair sign

  1. Interesting ... the dog looks too small to be a service dog, but I don't really know.

  2. The dog looks like he can handle the situation. People would find him interesting and want to pat him and tell him how cute he looks. :)

  3. I never understood the concept of a carrier for a dog. They need to explore, sniff and experience their surroundings while dodging errant briefcases and hurried feet. Then again, I've never had a dog in the city but it just seems right to allow them to walk on their own four feet. ;) I think that this dog kind of looks like his person.

  4. I don't know about the carrier, but IMO this is a good example of how a dog and person have an uncanny resemblance.

i have been getting a ton of spam comments and i am going to turn on comment moderation for a while
