traffic traffic traffic

everywhere

streets are closed off
to
vehicular traffic
even
 some foot traffic

all around the city
 there are huge fences
 8 or 9 feet tall
constructed
so
no one can climb them

they're all along the exterior of central park
 if christo were alive
he'd be jealous
 after all
 it took him
years and years
to get permission
 to erect
his 'gates'

it took
 just
one simple but influential man
visiting
 to
practically shut down the city
 to keep him safe

 as a friend said
'i am not catholic but i think he's wonderful'

anyway
 its crazy here today

look out
philly
you're
his
next stop

  1. I can just imagine how chaotic it is there with Francis in town!

  2. I remember when the Christo gates were up! I was so sick with the flu but we still went to Central Park one day and saw them. Working from home today because the city was crazy enough yesterday. I'm sure it's worse today!

  3. Oh brother! Hope his Holiness brings enough comfort to his flock to make up for the fuss, cost and inconvenience.

  4. He's a busy man. He was here about 12 years ago. I saw his helicopter. But that's as close as I got.

  5. His visit seems to be a big success -- except for those trying to carry on their lives and get to work.

I really have enjoyed watching his trip though.
Being raised Catholic, I can say with all surety, that he is indeed a breath of fresh air!! :-)
