weekend recappage

get ready for lots of photos
 none
of
 which
are signed

yes
i was too lazy

i could not wait for the week to end
it was busy at the office
this coming week will make up for last week's insanity

friday

our friend Carl
told me
about a 'mural' on the wall of one of the buildings
 that backs 'our' backyard
so i went up to the roof to see what i could see

first

there's this fabulous joy brown sculpture
hanging on the wall of our rooftop

looking down

we can peek into the backyards of our neighbors who actually have usable backyards

if we lean over the wall and look down there's the 'mural'

here's a better look

later in the day
i finally met two IG photographers i have known for the last two years
we met at a little coffee shop on ninth avenue
had something to eat
then walked uptown on the highline

i hadn't seen the two new sections
if you havent
you should

 what a great walk
what great views

 the day was perfect
and
 once again
meeting these two woman for the first time
felt as if we'd been meeting spending time together forever

there's something about social media
that brings people together
in a way that echos 'real life' friendships
 in all my years
 blogging
 being involved with Facebook
Instagram
i have not ever met anyone i didnt like
oh wait
 there was that horrific liar
who ruined my patchwork quilt
but
1 out of who knows how many
 is good odds

there was a wedding on the highline
the bride and her attendants wore turquoise kicks
the groom and his groomsmen wore green

we stopped for ice cream sandwiches from melt
red velvet cookie with cream cheese ice cream
peanut butter cookie with banana ice cream
chocolate chip cookie with vanilla ice cream

one of the benches is actually a see-saw
here
christine and amy demonstrate

the highline now wraps around the hudson yards

hudson yards?
thats where the commuter trains to metro north are parked

saturday
 was
way
 less
 busy/active
we took jack to the vet for his yearly check up

he thought
if he pretended to be a ostrich
 the vet wouldn't see him
ha!

 finally
 con edison finished digging

sunday

i beautified
do you love the matte finish manicure?
its zoya's charisma
at
polished beauty bar

  1. Oh you had fun! Fabulous. Love that you get to meet various bloggy/IG/social people. I haven't met many, but also love it to the max. Now I want to know about the mad one who ruined your quilt! What the hell? Did she buy you a new one? That highline looks fantastic, and so do your nails! Oh, meant to tell you, I really loved the white polish you had before too, but this mat fuchsia is beautiful too. Poor Jack. I can see how very nervous he was, look at all that hair shed on Toonman. Hope you gave him super extra cuddles after.

  2. It looks like you had fun! Love the manicure. We went to son's back to school party, and went and got spider bit while geocaching, and, generally hung out inside during the 100+ heat.

  3. Our dog is due for her annual exam and I have to take both dogs because neither has ever stayed home alone. Such fun to take two boisterous "kids" to the doctor and try to keep them from meeting and greeting with everyone in the waiting area.
Your nails are beautiful. I have a new color on my toes that's called Big Spender by Essie. I'm loving it. Hope you have a good week and enjoy some nice weather.

  4. I wish I could keep my nails nice, but with all the typing and writing and needlework/lace I do, my nails are always in bad shape. I like that matte finish. Very cool murals. And I really need to take another walk along the Highline -- it's been at least 3 years.

  5. Poor Jack!

I got some climbing in, and went to the Governor General's residence here for the first time.
