its a veritable heatwave

well
wednesday
 it was
 exponentially warmer
veritable heatwave
 temperatures soared
 into the 20s
 the winds were milder
it was amazing
 how good it felt
 not
 to wear
a hat
 2 pairs of gloves
 not to
 walk rapidly
hunched over
while your eyes and nose drip
 your glasses fog up
 with
 condensation
 from
 exhaling
 into
a scarf
a muffler
 wrapped
like a surgeon's mask
across your face

people had more than just eyes showing
 and
yet
it was still
well
 below
 freezing

hey
you gotta enjoy what reprieve you get
cause
 its only january
 there's
 likely
a lot more cold to come

 spring isn't til march 20
thats
 68 days away
but
who's counting

  3. Nobody in life gets exactly what they thought they were going to get. But if you work really hard and you're kind, amazing things will happen.

  6. I have to love seeing Dolce and Gabbana with all that mess out front. New York is such a contrast of....well, everything. Glad you got that itchy hat off your head.

  7. So far we're holding good at 'chilly'. They say snow after Jan. 15th, dang. I like the steam and the orange here in this photo.

  9. Daryl, I'm counting! And I'm hoping the worst of it is over! November and December seem to be our worst months! We have some bulbs in the garden taking a tentative peek above ground! I think they may be a little ahead of themselves, but the Snow Drops in the front garden don't agree with me!!
