crossing it off the bucket list

i have long
whined
 about
 not being able
to get
a
 good
 full moon shot

saturday
evening
toonman and i
went up to the roof
to
 see what we could see

it wasn't even 7 p.m.
but
 there she was
 full and bright

i took this first one with the 35mm lens
then
i  went downstairs
to get
the big lens

to
 capture
 the beaver moon
in
all its glory

neither of these shots has been edited or signed

the shot
below
 was
 taken
with
the 28-300 mm lens

 i no longer
 need
 to
chase the moon

 crossing it
off
 my photo bucket list

now
 i am after
a rainbow

 wish me luck

  1. Two fabulous shots, Daryl. I particularly like the first because it is so unusual. The second is beautifully clear and lovely, but the first one has something original that's all its own.

  2. I got your rainbow right here!

But seriously, those are nice nice lunar achievements. Can't wait to see if you do elsewise with them too

  4. Neat! I took a photo of the Beaver Moon tonight (I guess it's still called that a day later?)....but my goal was to have some branches in the scene....so the moon is out of focus.

  8. You caught it good... the line from Arthur's theme comes to mind... 'caught between the moon and New York city..' that was you girlfriend... good luck on the rainbow!

  13. Fabulous. I've failed repeatedly to get decent shots of the moon in darkness. Can only manage to get it when there is enough background light from the sun. Great job!

  14. Great job, you have crossed off something on your bucket list. Since I've made myself your statistician we'll call this BL-0001. The moon shots shall be labelled Moon-0001 and Moon-0002. Got it?

  16. Hi Daryl! Just stopped by via Akelamalu (Everything and Nothing). Nice to meet you!

OMG...your shots of the moon are spectacular! I adore the moon, and like you, find it very challenging to photograph. I got a couple shots last year, but they were of the moon during the day. Nighttime I'm still having problems with.

I see that you live in NYC. I used to live there (for 5 years), but am now living in Philadelphia. Yet, I find myself going back almost every month for a visit. I love NYC. It's truly my favorite city on the east coast.
