have you noticed there are no longer sales people?
 waits
 for the manager
 or 
whoever 
holds the keys
 to come
 open 
this boutique
 on madison avenue

  it was sort of like seeing a living mannikin

  1. You're SO right, no one is a mere salesclerk any more. I think it started when the stores discovered they didn't have to provide "associates" with the same benefits as "staff" but I could be wrong about that.
    Still no chance of escaping to Virginia next month?
    Sigh.
    (I know, I worked for many years.)
