appeared

 in typical

 new yorkese

 it tells you 

nothing

but

 it does so in 

a

nice

clean

 type face

in

 the official new york colors

seriously

new york's colors are blue and orange

i think 

they threw in

 the green and black

 just to balance it out

do you 

remember

 this 

sign?

it made

 its appearance

 months into the work

 which

 has

 since

 mid-may

 been 

complete

however

 this

repaired

replaced

now

 pristine 

escaltor 

remains 

non-operational

i suspect

 the inspectors

 have been too busy elsewhere

 to come by

 and

 approve the work

  i will say this 

i owe the city

 a thank you

for

 improving 

my cardio vascular stamina

 there are 36 steps

 from the lower level

 to the street

 i count them every morning as i climb them
