with
a whimper
an ouch
an oy
sometime over the weekend
a sort of soreness
when i chewed
turned
into
a full blown
throbbing mess
oh yeah
i also over did
the wine
on new year's eve
a fabulous malbec
my friend kate brought us
wasted
i couldn't
didnt
eat much
all day
didnt
eat much
all day
wine on an empty tummy isnt a good idea
add cheese to that
and
you're looking at
well
it wasnt pretty
i did call the dentist on monday morning
due to only one doctor being in
and
it being a holiday eve
i had to wait
my appointment is for 8:45 a.m. this morning
i love my periodontist
he gives good gas
relieves pain
plays soothing music
while
i recline
drugged to perfection
in a lounging sort of dental chair
i am going to be thinking of this image
of trees
in central park
as he works his magic
of trees
in central park
as he works his magic
making
all the ouch
oy
whimper
go away
a redeux of new year's eve

awww! what a way to start the new year - it could only mean that this is a good omen for a great year.

Ugh, that's no fun at all. Hope you're feeling better soon!
ReplyDeleteI'll think of you when I finally force myself to make the dentist appointment I need that I've been putting off because I don't want to be told that I have a cavity that needs filling...
Good gas is the only kind of gas to have/receive.
ReplyDeleteLove those water towers in your cover photo - cannot imagine being in the place to capture all of them. (Pretty sure I'd be adominishing people to stand back from the edge though...)
Tonight on a movie I saw someone making coffee, and they were scooping from a Zabar's bag. If there is any question, Zabars is my new boyfriend.
(I bought a bag of beans and have been enjoying them these past few mornings. Also, I LOVE Zabars.)

Your photograph could have been taken here in Coventry. Similar scene around here. Hope the dentist visit went well...you remind me I must make an appointment :).
ReplyDeleteoh dear..hope your periodontist can quickly relieve your pain..and hate that you've had to spend time in pain.
ReplyDeletelove the photos!
nice winter sky...but drinking on an empty stomach no good...lol
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
Not a good start to the new year but hopefully the problem will be quickly resolved. I started the new year with a hacking cough and felt really rough, however thanks to the miracle that is echinacea and Pholcodeine linctus I'm feeling better already. x
ReplyDeleteOy, toothache is the worst..but look on the bright side..you get the good gas haha!!
ReplyDeleteJust think, you've gotten all the unpleasantries of the year taken care of in just two days. :) Happy New Year, and I hope you're feeling better by now.
ReplyDeleteOh you poor girl! I hope that toothache is gone after your appointment. There is always another bottle of wine to enjoy when you feel better.
ReplyDeleteawww that sucks... glad it is all taken care of now. I realise i have been a HORRID blogger in the last year so I have no clue when you put the water tower header up but I FREAKIN LOVE it! Hubby and I were talking about you and your watertowers this weekend... week... hell sometime over the "holidays"
ReplyDeleteHappy new year cant wait to see what all your camera catches in the coming year!
love ya.
Yikes! Well .... I hope the rest of the week goes a bit more smoothly. I like the idea of thinking about that tree image at the dentist and just might try that the next time I visit mine.
ReplyDeleteHope that the drugs were good!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year and thanks for joining us at Wordless Wednesday Bloggers on a previous Wednesday. If you haven't already this week, link up at www.wordlesswednesdaybloggers.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteOuch!
ReplyDeleteNot a good way to end the year, but hopefully you are on the mend now, and had a good time (the gas) getting there.
Better living through chemistry!
Feel better.
xo.
Ahh!! Sorry. It only gets better from here though
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better very very soon! I hate the dentist....my friend's husband is an oral surgeon and he's the nicest guy. Hope the rest of your week goes well !!

Daryl, oh I do hope your feeling better. I hate tooth aches! With a passion! I also think the same way about the dentist!
ReplyDeleteHow come these things always happen in the middle of the holidays! What a pain!
But good gas is good!
yikes! sorry to hear NYE was such a bust and so painful. i hope by now you are feeling right as rain.
ReplyDeleteI hope your tooth is now in tip top shape. And that you feel ever so much better after all that ~
ReplyDeleteOh so sorry, Daryl! Hope you and your mouth feel wonderful very soon!
ReplyDeleteYikes! Hope you soon are feeling back to your joyful self!! Dentists are not my friends.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!

OMG! Teeth are like feet...when they hurt, everything hurts. I hope tomorrow is a better day. And I do like that idea re. thinking of your photo while you're sitting there. I'll have to remember that the next time in the chair.
ReplyDeleteOuch! I hate that you started the new year that way! Maybe that's the worst of it and the rest is uphill. Beautiful photo to focus on! (P.S I love malbec. What was this one?)
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear that you were in such pain, Daryl...Hope you feel better now & that your situation is resolved...May the rest of 2013 be much, much better & happier for you & your loved ones!
ReplyDeleteI hope you are feeling better by now. Our son had his first touch of the gas at the dentist this week and he liked it, a lot.
ReplyDeletesorry about it! i hope you're okay now. don't worry! 2013 will be much happier and better for you! :)
ReplyDeletehere. **Rebecca **
There is nothing quite so precious as a good dentist/periodontist that one loves and trusts! Hope all is well by now!
