I hope
everyone's
presents are wrapped
and
under the tree
or
hanukkah bush
if you baked
I know
you're putting out a plate of cookies and a glass of milk
for Santa
get ready
'cause
he's on his way!
Ho
Ho
Ho
yesterday
after beautifying
I went to B and H
to trade in
my D90 for a D7000
Toonman
came along to keep me company
to guide me
through
the
overwhelmingness
that is B and H
the place is so well run
the lines
queues
move along
smoothly
you wait in line for your turn with a sales person
to get to
sales counter #27
to
say
I'd like the D7000 body please
ta da!
got an extra battery
it came with a 16 gig memory card
I put an 8 gig card in the back up slot
how cool is that
it has a back up card
and
LowePro a camera case
for anyone who could possibly
fill up a 16
even on the highest res
I've
never
filled
that 8
in full disclosure
it could be
due
compulsive
downloading
going out today to give it a whirl!
see ya later!

Oh my! You lucky woman, you! (I order from B&H online---relatively simple process! I have a 70-300 lens in my cart there right now. After the holidays, I hope.) Ho ho ho!
ReplyDeleteOooh, congratulations! You're going to love it, the D7000 is awesome!
ReplyDeleteCongrats !!!
ReplyDeleteI love B and H... but I have to order on line
from there... just another perk you have living
in THE CITY ..
I have my D90 set up with the 500mmm lens another excuse
not to trade it in..
Congrats on your new camera body! You must have been a very very good girl this year:) Can't wait to see the photos!
ReplyDeleteGetting ready to bake now - enjoy your day!
I like your photo of Santa travelling through the sky. I also like the toy you bought yourself.
ReplyDeleteHappy Christmas to you and Toonman! :)
ReplyDeleteYay! What a great new toy. Enjoy!!
ReplyDeleteA good lesson in crowd control.
ReplyDeleteAll the best.
Such a nice present.
ReplyDeleteI hadn't heard the term Hanukkah bush since I was a kid. Friends of the family were Jewish and had a tree and all that. I remember they said their Rabbi was not very fond of the concept.
Have a great Holiday!!
Congratulations, Daryl!!
ReplyDeleteIt's a beauty!
I absolutely LOVE Santa in his sleigh. Wonderful photograph.
xo.
Awesome, Daryl! Congratulations. Love your photo here.
ReplyDeleteI'm thrilled for you getting the D7000! I love mine. Put a 35mm, f1.8 lens on it, you might never take it off. So light you can carry it all day long.
ReplyDeleteHappy Holidays to you & your crew.
Love, Donna
Oooh, a new camera. I'm jealous! No, the new cameras around here go to my husband, whose eyesight is a great deal better than my artificial lens implants.
ReplyDeleteLoved your greeting, Daryl. It reminded me of the year I shared an apartment with Annie Rosenbaum. We put lights on a big vase of pampas grass and called it a hanukkah bush. Good memories.
Wishing you and Toonman all the best, now and in the new year.
K
Good for you. Have fun! Can't wait to see what this little darling helps you produce...
ReplyDeleteAll best to you and Toonman--safe, happy, healthy!!!
Wow. I cannot even fathom a back up card thingie. Can't wait to see your shots.
ReplyDeleteDaryl, Oh wow! Didn't you get spoiled! A lovely camera indeed!
ReplyDeleteBest wishes to you and Ray!
OMG! I'm plot-zing! Can't wait to see what you do with that thing...am loving my lowly [comparatively] NIKON S6300 coolpix [noticed the diff?]

I missed this post. Have fun with the new D7000. I have really liked mine a bunch. Of course I always want another lens, but I have a new refrigerator instead:-/
ReplyDeleteHi, Daryl. Just briefly checking in from our winter vacation spot. Let me know if you like your D7000 much more than the D90.... Selfishly I'm hoping you don't (ha) so I won't be tempted to buy a D7000 body! But I have heard it is a sweetie.
ReplyDeleteOh my that is an impressive looking camera Daryl, looks like a long lens...how long is it? What an exiting pressie watch out the streets of NYC, there's nowhere to hide now haha!!
ReplyDeleteOh now that's a nice new toy. Didn't you semi-recently get the other camera though?
ReplyDeleteI love the photo!!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you are going to have fun with your new toy!! w00t!
Congrats on the new baby! Someday I would love to visit B&H...like being at a candy store I would imagine!
ReplyDeleteSo exciting! Congrats Daryl! xo
