waiting

 in
early March
 my friend
Kate and I
 went
 to
Central Park
we were going to take photos at the carousel
 but
we got there
it
 was
closed
 despite
it being an incredibly lovely early sunshine-y spring day

  we walked
to
Bethesda Fountain
at the top of the stairs
there was
 a crowd
 as you can see
 people
bikers
dogs
 standing
 watching
 something down below

 turned out
it was a
group
 of
amazingly
 talented
young men
 doing
 gymnastic-like
 dancing

they call themselves
 Afrobats

 you can
 click
  here
to see what everyone was looking at

  everyone
but
that Lab, sorry that is not a Lab, its a Golden
 and
 that Spaniel
 who
seemed
far more
interested
in
 each
other

  1. An interesting shot of people consumed by watching something off screen. This does a good job of creating curiosity for the unseen.

  2. There was a beautiful golden lab waiting in front of my butcher store this a.m. but his owner was not inside. The butcher said he comes every morning (the dog, not the owner!)...

  3. ohh to once again be that young, that passionate, that limber that devoted..it's hell to get old, but in my mind I can do that..as they say, the spirit is willing but the flesh got damned old!

  5. Love the focus on the dogs in this one, and I am truly sorry that you were not able to see the carousel. At least you have it nearby and will have many opportunities to shoot it. It sounds like Paris with something spectacular closed for not apparent reason on a lovely day.

  6. A super photo of a fascinated crowd, Daryl, but that is a Golden Retriever, not a Labrador. (As owner of a Golden, I just had to correct you. Lindy insisted.)
Your picture reminds me of the day I was sitting on a bench, waiting for my husband to climb up to the top of the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, when a group of young men came along and started to arrange their music system on the sidewalk in front of me. Soon, I was in the forefront of a crowd that had gathered to watch them dance. And my husband missed seeing them, he was so busy going up and down all those stairs!
