water towers

that
water tank
reminds
me
 of a watering can
the drain or rain pipe
 leading down
from
the roof above
 looks like the
... what is that called, the spigot? ...
I am thinking
 thats
not
right
 ... whatever ...

those
 are
residential buildings
 its interesting
to me
that
 all
three
are of totally different building materials
 of course
I cant be sure
 but
 I think
 its
at
 70th Street
 where
Broadway and Amsterdam
 intersect

  5. Spout is the right word I think. I like this one. Love contrasts in the buildings, too -- different time periods of the city.

  6. Interesting, it also looks like a nice rooftop garden perhaps.

  7. Looks like they got their own little park up there!

  8. I want to see the garden up there, the garden that has a water tower as a garden feature!

  9. I hope you took that in the Winter...otherwise those trees look like they could use some of that water!

  10. I was going to be pedantic, and say "Spout!", but I see somebody beat me to it (and did it with more elan than I would have, too.)

  13. I visited NYC for the first time June 29 - July 2 and, to my delight, spotted many water towers. From the photos I took I discovered that I'm a bit of an architecture geek: http://ascattering.blogspot.ca/2012/07/its-in-details.html

    Loved NYC but when I return, and I will, it will be an autumn visit. ;}
