three

I know
what this means
however
 there was a time
 when I didnt
I would
look
at these words
stenciled
on every protective wall
outside every construction site
 and
wonder
why anyone would 'post a bill'

Are there
expressions
 terms
phrases
like this
 that made
you
imagine
 silly things
or
were you always
 a
mature adult?

  1. Like 'Olive the other reindeer' and Credence singing about 'there's a bathroom on the right?"

And what's a 'partree ginnapear tree?'

  3. There were/are, but this one was tops for me.
I don't know when I finally learned what it meant, but it was well after the first time I saw one of these signs!

  4. I know you don't like baseball, Daryl, but my father used to take me down to Tiger Stadium a lot, and there were signs on the walls facing the field that said "no pepper" in reference to a warm-up drill called pepper. But I didn't know that. I was like, wow. How about salt?!?

  5. When I was small I used to look at he many "To let" signs on houses and offices(In the UK this means a house available for rent), and want to add an "i" in the space to make "toilet"....I still look out for such silly things about signs, decades on... Great post!
