this past
Sunday
when
I was over not shooting the moon
I beautified,
met my pal Westside Wendy
(she was planning on blogging under that name but never did I think she missed out on a good blog title)
for brunch
and
a walk to the
GreenFlea
we wandered
up and down
the rows of vendor tables
the warm weather
always
brings
new vendors
I met
Michael A. Potecha
(map glassworks llc)
an artist
who works with
both
art and recycled glass
upon
which he paints
I wish now I had my BIG camera with me
because
his art is gorgeous
priced to sell
I did tell him
I thought
he was under valuing his work
but
he feels
and
he is right
that in order
to get noticed
he must keep his prices down
for now anyway
that little glass tray
(he makes tiles, tivots, serving dishes all microwave and dishwasher safe)
which could be used for everything
from a dish you keep on your dresser to put
bracelets or necklaces in
to a dish on the table
with canapes or some other small finger food
use your imagination
Michael
sure
did
says
Connoisseur
under that painted mustache
so whimsical
he said to me
go ahead
I'll take a photo of you
Hipstamatic app. Lucas AB2 lens. Rock BW-LL film. no flash. iphone 4.
and
so
he
did
Hipstamatic app. Lucas AB2 lens. Rock BW-LL film. no flash. iphone 4.
Michael
can be found at the
GreenFlea
on
Columbus Avenue at 77th Street,
he promised to come back again,
and
you can see his work
I miss going to flea markets!!! They are so much fun!!! Love joking around with all the vendors!! One can meet some very interesting people at those things!! Since we didn't go to Florida this winter, I missed my flea-marketing! Love the mustache pic! :)
ReplyDeleteFabulous glass work, especially like the Koi platter.

you look marvelous, dahling, even with a 'stache!
Oh I love glass. I have a display cabinet with lots of cut glass in it and a few pieces of art glass hanging in my windows. I'd love to see more of his work Daryl if you can get some photos.

ReplyDeleteI agree with the previous posters - the koi pieces are wonderful, and your mustache is quite charming.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry you missed out on the moon shots; I saw it, but I was rather preoccupied at the time (it was during my son's wedding reception). So I missed the photo op too.
I loved these photos when I saw them on IG! Just checked out his flickr page and he is talented indeed....love those koi platters!
ReplyDeleteWhat fun!!! Love the 'stash.
ReplyDeleteVery dashing indeed Daryl, there's something about a woman with a mustache haha! I can see why you loved his work, I would have had to buy the Connoisseur Dish.
