waiting patiently

The benches
 in
 Riverside Park
line the Promenade
last
weekend
 as we were walking along
 I noticed
 a bench
with
 candles and flowers

I had to see
 what
 it was for

 aha

a group of people
whose dogs have
 used and enjoyed
the nearby dog run
 'bought'
 a bench
 and
 dedicated it
 to their pups

 pups
now passed
 but
who clearly were
 beloved

it reads:

In celebration of

 Bart, Peanut, Shubert, Shaggy, Maximus,
Mango, Jackson, Betty, Luvey, Scout, Sophie,
Shecky, Rudy, Suki & Playa.

Beloved doggies.

They are gone
 not forgotten
still much loved
and
always
remembered

  7. How sweet!

When my sister passed away two years ago we followed her wishes not to have a gravesite but to have a bench dedicated to her in a park where she loved to walk her dog...she wanted a site where dog owners could sit and dogs could play...It also overlooks a river:)

  8. I guess for some people their pets are like their best friend and they want to make a special tribute, very cute idea! Sounds like your weather is very 'changeable' just now Daryl, spring weather oui!

  10. I have never seen a bench like this, with names of dogs..... but I guess it could have been people who would have done the same over here.
