Blog Action Day - Food

Today
the blog world
is
directing
its attention to
Food

did you know
it takes
24 liters of water
to produce
one hamburger?

That means
it would take
over
19.9 billion liters of water
to make
just
one
hamburger
for every person in
Europe

Scary
considering
how scarce water is
in
third world countries.

And
food?
right here in the
USA
there are
many
who go to sleep hungry

What can you do?

donate

to a food co-op,
to your local food bank,
to a church
or
synagogue
or even to your doctor's office
 my chiropractor
collects food
twice a year
to donate to food banks

I bet
if you look
in your cupboards
there's something you can donate

think about that when you have your next burger
or vegan meal

  3. The topic of food reminds me that I need to go grocery shopping so I can make lunch next week...instead of buying fast food.

  5. So true! Our church has committed to contributing cans of fruit to our local food bank. Makes it so easy and yet I still forget the can sitting on the counter when I head out the door.

  6. This is so timely as we approach the holiday season. I'll pledge a donation to my local food bank.

Thanks for linking up to Weekend Cooking.

  7. One thing I do often is donate food. Maybe because I enjoy it so much...

  8. That's one gorgeous sandwich...

I donate quite often...we are having quite a difficult time down here too. You hear about needing food donations almost daily. :(
