apres Irene

I didnt go into the park
just
quick look
and
then back
because
I wasnt dressed
for the
damp
cool air

here's what
I saw
standing
on
Riverside Drive
looking
into
the
park

the open area that serves as a lawn for sitting in the sun is now a small lake

tree branches litter the sidewalks along the park and its benches

joggers anxious from days indoors are out exercising

 dogs are being walked

and
these
three people
were
looking
for
something
no idea what

  4. Yep, I think they over-hyped Irene. Glad you all didn't get what they forecasted. Maybe that guy is looking for his lost contact lens! HA

  5. You just never know what a a hurricane will do. Could have been a three when it hit so NYC, you were VERY lucky. What a mess to clean that all up though. Looks like our mess when Isabel hit us in 2003.

Oh, my... I do LOVE your header today. WOWZER!!

  6. Oh Daryl!
You & Ray have been MUCH
    on my mind!!!!

    We know about hurricanes.
Lot's of folks will now say
    that Bloomberg 'over reacted.'

But he did the EXACT RIGHT THINGS!

    Glad it turned out relatively
    danger/death free.

I don't know WHAT I'd do If we lost
    YOU.

But there you are showing us the City.

    Normal never looked so sweet.

    Much love & Aloha from Waikiki;

  10. Great photos, really gives us a look at what Irene brought! I'm really glad it wasn't any worse! I have to say, I'm very curious as to what those three were looking for. Looks like maybe a little lost pet?!

  11. I'm glad things are relatively back to normal for you. Irene needs to scram!

  12. She didn't live up to her hype--and I'm glad. Hope she was similarly "fickle" further north...

  14. NYC appeared more hard-hit than we were in the Boston area. For us (ironically enough, in Watertown) it was no more than a very bad thunderstorm, really. A few stray tree branches down here and there, but no loss of power and no real disruption to our lives, Thank God.
