toonsday - call for Apple

NOTE: All's well, everything is back .. but it was a roller coaster ride of emotions and do not get me started on the Express Lane Help which seriously was running local .. more like a slow boat to Outsourcing

  1. I totally feel for you Daryl (& Ray)- it happened to me & it was pretty devastating.
I'm glad you recovered everything Daryl!
& thanks for your take on it Ray - if we don't laugh we will just cry!

  2. Ack.. you didn't! I don't keep my photos in iPhoto. I don't use it at all unless I'm attempting something in iMovie in which case they insist I store the particulars in iPhoto. I'm glad it all TOONed out alright. ;)

  5. Ohh.... I can empathize with that. In NYC on the computer at my friend's place, I must have saved over 600 photos (by the time I noticed) in some weird format I could not open. NOTHING showed up. I went online and finally found something (don't remember what) that I could buy that would recover them. Then I remembered a fellow who wrote to me several times, a Serb, living in Las Vegas, who is a computer techie whiz. He recovered them....oh, boy, was I glad. In any case, I save all on an external hard drive and cds.

  7. I've suffered that particular "Mac Attack" more than once. I now use Time Capsule and a remote external hard drive. Peace at last!

  9. You're lucky. When I lost photos last year I LOST them forever. Thankfully I had a lot of them on Flickr, but not all of them. It's a real worry.
    Poor Ray...

  12. Aren't you glad you had Mac tech support? :) Apple Care is one of the things that noone should be without. What do the poor PC schmucks do when they have a prob? I shared your story with my fellow employees at the store yesterday. They loved it.

  15. Ray looks frazzled. So glad it all worked out. I would totally freak out if I lost all my pics.

  16. I would have fainted. Then woke up and fainted again. Then woke up screaming and pulling out hair. Either mine, or the persons nearest to me. Or, reached through the phone line and pulled out THEIR hair.
Then I might have fainted again.
