  1. LOL @ Hilary!

So, is 'dedelstein' now running the City of Noo Yawk Dept. of Parks and Recreation and now has her name enshrined on the signs?

  2. Ha, ha to Hilary! I love turtles. They are really my next-favorite animal, after dogs. I have had and raised many!!

  3. Turtles are very cute as long as they are not snapping turtles! My sister had a run-in with one last week on her property...and it wasn't pretty!!

  4. Turtles are great. But I never knew they liked quiet. Perhaps it's just for the people who frequent the pond area that you must be quiet.

  10. There's nothing worse than a turtle that gets up too early.

  11. Ha ha, Hilary!
What a restful spot that must be--even humans need to "turn turtle."

  12. I wish more of Central Park was part of a "quiet zone!" Visited there for the first time last spring (just in time to see the end of the cherry blossoms). What a fabulous piece of NYC!

  13. I love your caption. Don't want to disturb the turtles.

  14. Looks like some of the signs along A1A in Florida ... when the babies hatch, the go toward the light, which often means the road. Volunteers are usually out trying to hustle them back toward the ocean.

Nice to see they are being protected in NYC, too!

  16. My kind of sign. I would like a copy of that for outside my classroom. I think we are all turtles at heart.

  17. Gosh, that makes me wonder what the turtles in the ponds at our golf club must think. That they are living in hell?

    dedelstein strikes again, LOL!

  18. This is lovely. It takes away the preconceived idea that New York City is all paved over.
