  3. New York is NOT New York for me without a hot dog, but I buy on the street, which reminds me of my grandfather, when he used to buy me one from a stand.

Anyway, shop or street, they're good, and these folks look like they're enjoying them.

Check out my blog on Monday for a response to your 'hand in the pocket' photo of the other day! :)

I've linked back to your photo!

  4. Oh, this is totally New York for me, a wonderful snapshot of a busy lunchtime in the City. Thanks for bringing back some wonderful memories of the time I spent there.

  5. Ah, New York! Do you have any idea how far we have to travel here for a good hot dog?

  7. I want one!

wv: uvieses. Hot dogs are definitely under the category of uvieses, but it's OK to indulge occasionally, especially if you're in New York where they make the very best.

  8. And neither of the women seem to be in the correct mood to be by that sign! Cloudia should have been there!

  9. Hello Daryl, and a happy Friday to you. I just had an absolute blast reviewing the last few photographs. In particular I adored the light post, which as you gaze up at it, gazes back down at you.

I loved this one. I used to live on the East Coast, and spent a fair amount of time in NYC...where fortune favors the brave when it comes to hot dogs :-)

  14. Boy, you do get around. I always wondered what a dedelstein hot dog place would look like.

Re your comment on Ocala DP - I laughed out loud. Only a New Yorker would immediately think of getting mugged when looking at that shot! ;-)

  16. Those two women look totally apathetic. They should have tried the Pink Papaya Dedelstein. ;)

  17. Ack! I can never spend enough time in NYC. This weekend trip was VERY short and no time for food but I MUST remember to stop at GP the next time I'm in the city.

  18. P.S. Sorry didn't get your comment earlier--I'll def drop you a line next time I'm in the city and make sure to do the follow-up option. :)

  19. OMG _ I just ate at Papaya King last week - it's really close to my niece & nephew's pad!!! And, although I bypassed the 'healthy'(?)and apparently life-changing Papaya drink, the Pina Colada was pretty life-affirming, too.

Dammit, you're making me all nostalgic. Stop it, already. I'm misting, here...
