You may recall my love of the artist Banksy.
Well, I was walking up Madison Avenue
the Saturday before Christmas
and this window caught my eye ...
reached for the camera
and
snapped.

ReplyDeleteI can't wait to show him this one!
Thanks Daryl.
Banksy's great but it's the reflected "prick" in the window that really makes the shot so quintessentially NY.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, me like! Well spotted.

Banksy is so great! Excellent shot!
ReplyDeleteOh, Daryl. You see, this is why I began coming here in the first place. I just love that you always have the camera in the pocket and give us these great little glimpses of one of the best cities in the world.
ReplyDeleteVery cool. I noticed the reflected "prick" too.. and your own store name of course. Great shot.
ReplyDeleteA great capture. I love these shots that seem to be layered.
ReplyDeleteI really love that there is so much going on in that photo. Wonderful!
ReplyDeleteThe pefect photo opportunity! :)
ReplyDeleteGreat shot! You have a keen eye for the unusual
ReplyDeleteNot familiar with Banksy but definitely noticed the prick and your signature reflected. Nice!
ReplyDeleteI'm really trying to appreciate the art, but can't seem to get past the graffiti;)
ReplyDeleteLove this!
ReplyDeleteHawk Eye!
ReplyDeleteI love it!

Sandy introduced me to Banksy a while back, and I'm finding out that I've seen a lot of his work and just didn't know it was his. Don't think this is one of those though. But it's a marvelous capture!
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking the "prick" isn't a reflection, but it's not part of the artwork either. Banksy wouldn't be above using it for a caption so much, as he'd have just done a better job writing it.
But the reflected sig? Brilliant!
I love all the reflections!
ReplyDeletethe graffiti looks as if it has been placed there - wonderful!!
I had to look this guy up on the net. I had seen a feature on him on a Sunday news show but never held on to the name. Thanks for sharing your real experience with Banksy in his outdoor art world.
ReplyDeleteGreat picture! That is what I think!!
ReplyDeleteIt's brilliant.
ReplyDeleteThat's a wonderful reflection. Great shot.
ReplyDeleteI love this, the reflections make this an even better picture...
ReplyDeleteDaryl, looks like we both had our minds on graffiti today. I love your shot.
ReplyDeleteVery urban.Very stylish...New York.
ReplyDeleteI love the way the reflection overlays the figure. He appears to be watching the traffic pass by.
ReplyDeleteWonderful! Is that one inside??
ReplyDeleteComing home on American Airlines yesterday, their magazine had an article about this young woman who lives in Brooklyn and does her own kind of street art. You're going to love it! Go to americanwaymag.com and to the article "The Peter Pan Syndrome" her website: ColorMeKatie.blogspot.com
Oh, and go to the street art tab on her blog.
