what a weekend
friday
was
such a lovely day
after
the rain left
that is
the forecast
for
the weekend
wasn't great
add to wintery temps
the beginning
of
the remodeling of my mouth
too many years ago for me to recall
how long its been
i had a permanent bridge installed
over
around
and
through
my upper teeth
over these many years
i should have charged my food a toll
then
the cost of
repair
replacement
remodel
would have
less stress on my bank account
i might have actually gone a few more years
before major renovation was needed
but things happened
anyway
saturday
was
the first step
toward
what likely
will be
months
if not at years
of
dental visits
the rain
supposed
to happen
late in the day
started
before
i even stepped out of the house
a mere drizzle uptown
was
a major downpour
midtown
umbrellas were popping up
even under the
calder
the only one happy about the rain
the umbrella vendor
his chant of
five dollars five dollars five dollars
carried him across 57th street
several hours later
mouth mostly numb
i
headed uptown
the rain
gone
leaving
wet streets
blooming trees
beautification happened
seriously
did you think
2+ hours in a dentist chair
would stop me beautfying
sunday
was
a lovely
sunny day
the wind
however
icy and strong
enough
to
blow people away
hold on tight and walk fast
