In 2012, a New Jersey shelter got an unexpected Christmas present: Gia and her nine two-day-old puppies. Even though Gia was only nine months old, she mothered her pups with loving skill. Sadly, they all came down with parvovirus, and miraculously, they all survived. Gia, once skin and bones, is now a healthy, easygoing gal at the Alan Purcell Animal Shelter, just waiting to find her forever home!
Gia is fantastic on leash and loves everyone she meets. In fact, her caregivers call Gia "the most amazing love bug you will ever meet" because she's a really good kisser! Living at the kennel does stress Gia out, and no one on staff can understand why she is overlooked. Just look at her! She even had her own newspaper article, with a darling photo. Yet gorgeous Gia has been waiting patiently for adoption for over a year.
