zen

its been a crazy time
first
 there was the
 seemingly
 never-ending
 presidential campaign

 then

 the October Surprise

 no
Mr Rove
 it wasn't
that
Ohio didnt go red
no matter how you tried to spin it

 it was
 Hurricane Sandy
 turning life
as many
 far
too
many
know it
 on its ear
   to add insult to injury
 for
 Faux, er, Fox News
 the President
was reelected
 without
the
'help'
or
 interference
 of the
 great state
 of
cluster-fuck
 political douchery
Florida

then
 that
 Nor'easter
 hit
the same people
who
were still
digging out
of
Sandy's aftermath

this morning
 the sun is shining
 the skies
are
dry
blue
 and
 the temperatures
 are
 rising
 slightly
 into more
'normal'
'seasonal'
levels

so
 put on a happy face
breathe deeply
 and
 lets get zen!

the weekend is here
get out
volunteer
go help a neighbor
donate
food
that old but still warm coat
those gloves
that scarf you don't wear
every little bit helps
be part of the solution
you will be glad you did

  3. I know... what is Florida's effing problem!!! They still have not learned to count, nor have they noticed that we are all watching them create long lines in an effort to stop the Democrats from voting. Idiots!!

  4. Hoping for quick relief for everyone involved in the two storms. What a mess! You are right. It has nothing to do with the way that we live except that we need to pay more attention to the way we treat the environment. I hope you and yours are fine. Lovely photo.

  6. So glad you are ok. Sandy was a nasty storm. I feel for all those people who lost their homes and have so much clean up todo. Thank you for being a great person to help in time of need.

  8. When did basic human compassion get tossed aside for so much hatred? I donate a lot to AmVets and think I will add a little more deep closet cleaning to my list today. Happy Friday, my friend.

  9. Was that a quote from Jon Stewart's comment about Florida? I just watched the video this morning because we don't get his show. :-) You've written a wonderful summation of the week in October...and that image is fabulous!

  10. I saw on the news last night that Karl Rove has said the Republicans lost because the Democrats stole the election...by portraying Romney as someone people didn't want to vote for. Are these people nuts or what?
