waiting

this is Lola

  I met her

 last weekend 

on 

Madison Avenue

 on my way

 to exhale spa

 for my massage

 her person

a lovely South African woman 

was getting a latte

 while

 Lola 

waited

 outside

 the

 coffee shop

 never

 once

 taking her eyes 

off her

 not even 

when 

I knelt

 in front

 of her 

and

 asked

 if 

she 

would

 mind

 if 

I took 

her 

photo  

apparently she didnt
