pumpkins

I am
back from my trip
out of town

I offer you
this image
of
pumpkins
at
Westside Market
on Broadway at 78th Street
until
I can sort my zillions of photos.

They, the pumpkins,
dont look
wonderful
(my photos are another story)
but
I bet
with a little clean up
some clever carving
they'll be
scary and fun
for
Halloween
or else
they'll make
yummy pie,
bread,
muffins
or
dry out the seeds
add some sea salt
and
you've got a yummy take with you snack!

Thanks for stopping by
more better stuff comin'

  1. Love this shot or reality showing that not all pumpkins are perfect. Plus, the background colors really look great for fall.

  2. Just takes a little cleaning and carving and these will be stars on someone's steps for Halloween.

We cleaned about 50 pumpkins at the 'Pumpkin House', going back to clean more today. Talk about pumpkin aroma and seeds!

Hope you had a lovely weekend!

  3. That's the great thing about pumpkins. Even if it's a ratty pumpkin, it can still make a great Jack-O-Lantern!

  4. I don't think pumpkins are meant to be perfect. My neighbor made us a pumpkin pie in exchange for our fresh farm eggs. It was really good! I'm thinking I could enjoy another one very soon.

  6. That photo just makes me jealous. We have decent farmers markets here, but nothing like NYC.

We're going to pick up our pumpkins tomorrow.

  13. That's a pile o' possibilities, that is. Nice color and light, and a great angle on the shot.

I know what you mean about a zillion photos. I'm still sorting through the ones from Albuquerque, and that was three weeks ago.
