neighbors

I've shown you
some
of the loveliness
of
beautiful use
of
indigenous plants, trees
to make the area
'green'
 in more ways than color
I showed you
some
of
the

I think the buildings
that
abut
The High Line
are part of its charm
and
seem in some ways
to be very artsy on their own

As evidence of that theory
here are some of the more interesting
to me
sights
that
compliment
the
greenery

at first glance
I thought
 that tag read
IDA
ToonMan
pointed out it says
TDA

then there's this
its a
window
in a
church
peeking through
those leaves

 this
ghost sign
for a
bonded warehouse
made
me
wonder
what was stored there
back in the day

topping off the old warehouse
 is an
old
water tower
with
weeds
growing up
around
 it

  3. My fave is the first shot. Would love to peek inside the window even if there's nothing inside but dust and mice. I'm just a snoop that way... :-)

  4. Makes me want all the more to walk it someday. Very nice shots. I especially like the one of the church window. Beautiful.

  6. I walked the High Line once with my friend from NYC. It had just opened. I too was fascinated by the 'side' views...such tales to tell.

  7. That warehouse used to house all my old reject poems. Then the fire marshall shut it down. ;-)

I love how it's peeking out from green and how it has a mauve tone to it

  9. Beautifully captured Daryl..I've been to the High Line quiet a few times in the last 3 or 4 months- it's really amazing what a determined, caring and creative group of people can do. It's one of my favourite places in the city, Chelsea Market is another one.
Glad to be back reading here :)
