neglected

There's a yellow tape
DO NOT CROSS
just at the top of this staircase
I leaned as far as I could
without falling or crossing
I do follow the rules
some times

Some times
 I don't
Sue me
which I guess
is what the Parks Department is worried about
  being sued
by people
who might trip
 fall
or in any way
 hurt themselves
whilst walking up or down these steps

Clear neglect
those growths of weeds between the steps
the dead leaves
and
other park debris
accumulated in the corners
so symmetrical
are sure signs of neglect
of course
 the nosy Parker
in me wants
to
know
why

This is one of the wordy photos from Sunday's walk

  1. Ask them.. send an email. Love the perspective of this shot. Sometimes it pays to be a rule-breaker.

  2. What? You believe in maintaining public property?

    Millionaires NEED those tax breaks!

  6. Now I want to know, too. And I want to bring my broom.

  7. A broom, a little hot salt water and it would look good as new. Of course who knows how sound the structure is. I want to know too..

  8. You have somehow managed to give that neglected stairway an intriguing, mysterious feel Daryl.

  9. The steps don't look dangerous so why the do not cross tape I wonder? The do look neglected though. :(

  10. I would def cross over and walk down those stairs. The consequences can't be that bad, and probably worth it.

  11. Here's the outside scoop ;

Under one of these steps is the suspected burial site of a famous gangster and you know the bureaucratic red tape saga. It's taking years to get the right permits and forms done so they can exhume him.

wv: Affeter that is completed, you will find more yellow tape for the destruction crew.

  13. So over the wall ... this from a girl who snuck through Malaga security to find my lost luggage!

  14. That is a nice picture and what a waste to bar people from utilizing the beauty. So sad.

  15. Oh. You must investigate. Such a terrific photo, I was actually trying to peer around and see how much further it went!

(I would have proceeded with caution and had Toonman call 911 if necessary)

You are good. Really good :)
