  1. love the second pic. The city looks deserted, I thought nothing could do that! Maybe that guy ran them all off...

  2. other than the slush, the city looks so manageable. I feel like I am stranded out here on Long Island.
    pretty photos Daryl.

  3. Pretty empty for NYC. My friend said she had a snow day from school, and mentioned the slush!!

  4. Daryl,

I absolutely LOVE the first shot coming out of the subway. I'm not really sure why but I enjoy taking the train when I'm in the city. My friend says I'm crazy to like it because it's filthy but I think that may be just why I like it--it's nowhere near as clean as the Metro down here in DC.

It's interesting to see NYC at what would be considered a standstill for the area. I agree, it looks manageable (much like after the storm before Christmas) but it's a somewhat disturbing sight, haha. I think I prefer to see NYC crowded with people. :)

  7. ENOUGH already!
These photos capture every 'white' detail. Same here: huge piles of snow.

  9. Love those shots.

I'm going to bet that shoveler has a sore back today. Just a guess.

I'm so sorry about this No York City weekend. We need to pick another date, maybe in the spring.

wv: undballo. CBW cried und balloed when she had to cancel her trip to New York due to snow.

  10. looks much like it does here...only us working stiffs have to venture out into the cold, windy weather among the snow piled high.

are the ladies still coming to visit?

    hugs

  13. I like how it looks, Daryl. Except of course, for the big piles of slush.

  14. we got to see your hood on the news wild to see streets not filled with cars and few people ... Compairativly speaking...how ever you spell it... beautiful snow except where it is all dirty slush... love the tree shots!

  15. I remember snow days in NYC when I was a resident. Love to look at it now.

  16. Don't you just love that? It is similar to shoveling out your driveway only to have the road plow come past and pile a ton of snow right across the end of the drive so you can't get out anyway!

  17. It looks so lovely looking at it from my armchair in my warm lounge! LOL

  19. A winter for all of us to remember. I can't wait for the melting to begin. Nice shots of snow laden trees. I can't imagine how frustrating it must be in the city to deal with it all.

  20. Poor guy, he's just trying to do his job lol! Doesn't it all look pretty though.

  21. Nothing worse than stepping off a NYC curb onto what you think is snow only to immediately sink into slushy water. I know this from experience.

wv: kinato - I kinato that story before.

  22. Those are both beautiful shots. That's cool to come on someone shoveling the sidewalk, although making the crosswalk impassible doesn't make sense.

  23. I love the snow-laden branches. The shoveling job is huge!

Also love the pastel color in your header.

  25. Looking at all that slush makes me shiver - I hate it when my feet get soaked through and through. Forget fashionable - wear waterproof ! So odd that the last two storms have missed us ~ but I am not complaining ! Keep dry.

  26. Were the sidewalks slippery? That would be my only complaint.

Lovely how beautiful everything looks in white.

  27. Doesn't the snow make everything so beautiful! Even dirty streets look pretty covered in snow.

  28. probably a total pain and really inconvenient, but so gorgeous and romantic looking well, except the slushy photo...
