  3. Very nice, Daryl!
Those comfortably-worn benches look most inviting...

No sign of "dedelstein" today? ;-)

  5. Looks like a nice place to while away an hour or two. Especially under that wonderful sunlight!

  6. I too love weathered wood, but learned early on not to slide along a bench like this.

  7. Love the big slide into the curve here. A few splinters in the bum, I suspect!

  8. All I can think about is all the splinters in there. I am such an old lady....

  9. And it's real wood, too. I hope the city has an anti-splinter brigade. Most of our benches and such have been replaced with the artificial stuff.

  11. Look at all the lines, squares and rectangles. Great lines and shapes, it's almost hypnotic.

  12. Fantastic weathered wood; I agree with Chesapeake Bay Woman that it's hypnotic.

  16. I love the way cities invest in public recreation. It must be wonderful to walk along the waterfront and sit on those substantial benches. It's a great choice for Theme Day.

  19. I'm always amaze at the beautiful parks in NY

I think the part in the photo is at Robert Wagner Junior Park instead of Battery Park but I can't be sure since they are connected

  20. I feel cold just imagining being there! That said, I enjoyed the wolf-moon story.

Reminds me a bit of Lake Sumter Landing...I do like the wooden boardwalks, and pilings and piers!

    Excellent theme post!

  31. I love wood that's seen the elements for some time, weathered and seasoned. Even in the cold, it looks warm (barring it being covered in snow, of course.)

  32. I LOVE benches Daryl....so this is one of my favorites!!
