My mail box
it lives just before the corner of
West End Avenue at West 79th St
I pass it on the way to the bus stop
tossing in our bills and Netflix envelopes

  2. Ooooh! The close up is eye candy to the fifth power! The blue is so striking. I'm smitten with this shot! I got back from my mini getaway last night:) It was sooooo relaxing. Happy PFF my dear!

  3. I feel like I could reach out and drop a piece of mail into this box. Very cool.

  4. I would estimate a good 5 or 6 coats of paint on the box. You must be paying a lot of bills.

  6. We don't have these out in the country. But we do have a mailman that comes to school. He wears shorts and is well, um, eye candy.

  7. I miss having a corner mailbox and the walk to mail a letter. But here in the 'burbs, we put up the flag on our mailbox for pick-up - boring,

  8. I love mail, always have. When i was a little girl I would wait in high anticipation for the mailman. It started with a ceral box send off.

  12. I like! Some of these boxes have to be very old. There was one at the Ocala City Hall that was so rusted out you could see in it! They finally fixed it up a bit.

Thanks for your nice comment on Ocala DP and have a wonderful day there in ze Beeg Appel!

  13. I have to go to the PO. The few collection boxes around here look so neglected I don't trust them

there used to be a box right on the corner but drunks kept plowing into it at TGIF closing time

  15. Wow girl, I wish my post office box was right around the corner! I guess that's one of the advantages of the big city. Us country folks have to drive to the main office...whew!
    I enjoyed my visit here~

  18. Oh I love Netflix.....
It saves me from the high cost of theater commercials and the dude behind me and his stinky feet in my hair. ;-)

I don't think we have a post box anywhere close by....they took them all away. A matter of fact, as I sit her I am mentally driving the streets of our town and I can't recall even one, anywhere.
Now you know....now that I have said that I'll be out about town and spot several. :-)
But honestly, for the life of me, I can't recall a single one.

    Have a beautiful weekend.

  23. Completely different from what I'm used to! It's so interesting to see how things are in other countries.

  24. Sometime in the near future my grandchildren will probably see this picture, scratch their heads and say, "Grammie, what is that thing." Rather sad. I look the way you took this shot. Creative. Some day I will tell you a mailbox story. It involves a drunk friend, a drunk me, a love letter, a mailbox and regrets about the mailing of the love letter - to think I was once skinny enough to almost fit into that slot - sort of, kind of. Enjoy your weekend in the city!

  25. Wow! Your mailbox is collected twice a day. Our POST OFFICE only collects once a day! That's NYC service!

  26. Old friends; we loved them as kids for some reason....I miss the red tops. When you travel in the Brit parts of the world they are SCARLET! Shocking as driving on the left!

This scheduled posting problem at blogger is really messing me up, and the weekend (HIS time) is approaching.....will I fall behind
    Stay tuned ;-)

  27. At first I thought the pick-up times were blank and I was thinking "now that's my New York!" But I see they filled in the times quite nicely : )
