monday monologue: the weekend recap
It was a very busy weekend.
Lots of pampering,
lots of beautifying™,
lots of walking
and
taking of photographs
There was eating,
drinking
and
celebrating
as well as tech calls to Apple
Lets start at the beginning
turning my usual schedule of
beautifying™
upside down
I got mani/pedi'd at
on Friday
On Saturday
I had a massage scheduled at exhale,
a good thing,
as my back had been wonky all week.
After the massage
armed
with a container of fresh, organic lemonade/juice
(lemon, cayenne, agave/honey)
I walked
from
at 77th St/Madison Avenue
downtown
I got to 72nd St
and
had to stop
to snap this antique coke machine
for my friend Kate
on display in the Ralph Lauren shop
window
Onward
downtown
I walked
as I got toward
65th Street
I thought
I might need
a pit stop
Barney's their bathrooms are always clean.
I was
about
to walk
under this
construction
shed
when
I looked
up
and
across
at
this
flag waving
horseman
and
his steed
rest
atop
Hermes store
once a bank
the store now just rakes in money
walking south
from
the loo stop in Barney's
down to
Salon AKS
where
works magic for me every time
After my hair appointment I headed down Fifth Avenue,
why?
because
Sixth was busy crazy with a street fair
disappointed I didnt snap some pix there?
Well I apologize
but after a while one street fair looks like another hot crowded
did I say hot and crowded?
At Fifth and 42nd Street
these
tourists
armed
with umbrellas
to keep
them in the shade
were looking
at
Leo the Literary Lion
I too snapped his noble repose
Later in the evening
we had dinner at
Recipe
celebrating
our
33rd wedding anniversary
two toasts were made one with steak in this self portrait
and
this one of my darling husband toasting me!
(apologies for the bad iPhone photos)
Sunday
was
spent
first dealing with Apple engineers
to help ToonMan
uninstall Lion and reinstall Snow Leopard
due to some non support issues of three programs he uses for his business
once the reinstall was underway
we took off for a walk
it was
HOT
but not
humid
and
I wanted to give my new 55-200mm lens
a
workout
the George Washington Bridge always looks a lot closer than it is
obviously the only morning glory eating caterpillars were in my window box
in among the tall ornamental grasses the Queen Anne's Lace thrive
someone with a sense of humor put sunglasses on this sculpture
see it
and
no
it
wasnt
us
