monday monologue

Another weekend
over
another work week
begun

Hipstamatic John S Lens DC Film No Flash

not complaining
not complaining
well
not much

we had
 rain
here
on
Saturday morning

Hipstamatic John S Lens DC Film Flash off

of course
there
 were times
 it stopped
but
then
just as I was leaving
Sam & Chris's Salon
after
Sandy
fresh from vacation
styled my coif
it started to rain
hard
not good timing

the sun did come out
when it did
boy
was it pretty

Hipstamatic John S Lens Kodot XGrizzled Film Flash Off

After my errands
Toonman and I
watched
HUGO
oh its so good
they won a ton of technical awards
and
deserved
every one
 they should have won more
its a treat for the eyes
a touching story
I got faklempt several times

Sunday
was
cold
sunny

Hipstamatic Loftus Lens DC Film Flash Off

after my weekly mani/pedi at Polished
I met
My New Friend
(MNF)
for brunch
we wandered
uptown
 in search of
non noisy restaurant
where we could
sit
eat
talk
and
not have to shout to be heard

sounds like a simple thing
but
 its not
many of the restaurants
are small so they are noisy

we lucked out at
Slightly Oliver
a new restaurant
on
Amsterdam at 84th Street
its been several other restaurants over the years
 this time
the brunch menu is simple
eggs
I had a well cooked omelet with spinach/feta cheese and a nice salad on the side
 or pancakes
tho they do also serve burgers
MNF had a burger with the works and a side of fries
it was a fun few hours

This morning
on the subway into work
I noticed
the train was fairly empty
riders took seats
 making sure
 to leave
an empty seat
between

I had to smile
a man entered at 66th St
looked around
seeing no place
where he could sit apart

he scoped out the other riders
 would
he sit next to
the guy with headphones
the woman reading her Kindle
the teen staring into space
the two men talking quietly
or
would he opt to stand

what do you think he did?

Thank you
for
sitting next to me
I hope you have a great week!
