  1. That brings back memories of my younger years in RI....we would press the leaves, then paint them. Can't remember what the heck we did after that.

  3. The leaves this year are so spectacular but after a certain stage they start looking like something which needs to be raked up.But meanwhile so beautiful.

  4. Love the colors. I would probably
walk all over the leaves and listen to them crunch beneath my feet.

  17. Nice colors, and a slightly melancholy feel...

  18. Great shot. The leaves look so clean and newly fallen. By that I mean they don't have the brittle dusty look they sometimes get.

  19. Looks like it's the last round of autumn leaves.

I just wrapped up my visit to NYC. It was actually quite warm (and non-winter-like) for late November.

Today's WW is another picture from the trip.

  23. We don't have any of those at all. Not an Oak tree to be found anywhere around here. Drats.

  24. Don't you just love how oak leaves get that bronzed look after they fall? A beauty of a shot. :)

  25. Leaves even look beautiful on a NYC gutter! Such beauty, right at our feet. You have such an eye for seeing beauty where so many of us fail to look. I love this shot. I love the sun, shining on them, making the colors stand out even more!!

  26. Gorgeous--these last to go look so hardy.
I loved your Monochrome Monday photo too!

  27. Recent, or a while ago? Most of our leaves are long gone now, it seems. Nice photo, in any case. Never mind my nitpickery!

  28. How do you do that? Take a photo of a pile of leaves and they illuminate from within? Just gorgeous. How I wish I could do what you do!

Thank you so much for swinging by Casa Hice and leaving such a nice comment! It means the world to me and I appreciate your taking the time!

  29. The light brings out all the various colors. I might be seeing things, but it looks like there is a droplet of water towards the lower right part of the photo. No matter what it is, it's interesting.

  30. Nice picture Daryl! We have had so much wind lately, that there are not very many leaves around anymore!!

  31. Another good shot Daryl. I have been so pleased to see some leaves left on the trees for me. So different to when I arrived in the Spring and the trees were totally bare!!
Yes, the grandson walks all on his own, forwards, backwards..runs..talks..! Perpetual motion on legs. What a cutie pie. Not sure what we are doing on the weekend..sometimes on Sundays we are down that way for church...I am minding baby most mornings so my sil can get some work done. That's the theory. Hopefully it will work. So far so good!
Getting over the jet lag slowly..waking early at 4am is a bit draining!

  33. I like the leaves!

I would participate in Wordless Wednesday, But it mightn't work so well with a poetry blog!

  34. Wordless? I'm sure I heard some of them say, "Leaf me alone!"

    Beautiful shot, Daryl!

  35. I love these leaves. They are my favorite I think because they resist crumbling under pressure. They are like pages in an old book. beautiful.

  36. City sidewalks, pretty sidewalks, dressed in holiday style.

  37. I can almost hear the crackling of the leaves when you walk over them. How peaceful.

  38. Autumn in New York is so pretty especially upstate. Before you know it the snow will be falling. Come to the south for a warm visit!
