  6. The sort of steps that are so beautiful to look at, but I really dislike them. They trip me up. But they do make a wonderful photo, and your perspective is terrific.

  10. Nice perspective...but is that some kind of giant bird at the top of the stairs, or are my eyes playing tricks on me?

  13. You made those stairs look like an art - all those rock peices organized in useful forms of walls and step - perfect play between nature and man :)

  14. Supposedly, my mother took me to Riverside Park when I was a baby (we lived on the West Side--I have no memories of it, too young). Great shot, great angle.

  15. This is superb, Daryl! Love the b&w, the light and shadows, the steps and the way you composed the whole thing.

Speaking of deserving awards, I have awarded you the Honest Scrap award also, because you deserve it!

  28. I love this shot in black and white. I imagine this would be a nice stroll in the summer with the shade of the trees. Lots of work went into those steps - true art.

  29. Hi Daryl, that is such a good angle shot, just love it!

  30. Great! The angle and the steps and the people.

  31. Keep thinking of the song Stairway to Heaven. Country girl mentioned if you look at the center of the photo you will think you are possibly going down instead of up and it works in your photo also. Thanks again for the photo and I love that you signed it:) I had such a sugar high last night I could not fall asleep but it was so worth it. Thanks again for the surprise B&W.

  33. Magnificent angle! Very dramatic, especially in black & white. All kinds of things come to mind as a "back story". This could be a Wordsmith's prompt!

  34. Absolutely LOVE this. In fact, I can see it enlarged, (hugely 4' plus), and hanging on my wall.

  37. The stone work looks a lot like the stone in Hollywood Cemetery (Richmond). SW & I went there last week, and I was overcome with the beauty & history within those gates...

    Lovely!

  38. W O W!
    The stairway to heaven. lol.

Really beautiful! You have a very nice blog that I will visit more.

  39. That is brilliant. I love it. When you take pics like this I always imagine how you did it, like were you couching down on the floor with your head almost touching the ground? :D

  40. A little bit of heaven at the top, I would expect. See I am not the first to be reminded of Stairway to Heaven.
