three

I spent all
of
yesterday morning
through lunch
 trying
to figure
out
how and why
my comments
turned into
'no-reply comment'

 I tried
 to get to my profile
to see
 how
 the
 'show email' link
 had
 become
unchecked
 but
 that option
was
 no
longer
available
 no matter
 what I did
no matter
 where I clicked
 I ended up
on
Google+

I was so frustrated
 I turned to that
oxymoronic
Blogger Help
the answer
I got
was
'the email shown option was no longer an option as Blogger is trying to make blogging more secure'
they're
 all
about
 helping
us
avoid
hijackers and hackers
if your email
isnt out there
 then
no one can hijack your blog

really?

Google+
 broadcasts
 your
 full
real
name
 how is that protecting us?
And
 if you chose
 (operative word - chose)
to make your email public
 then its out there
on
Google+
 but
not
attached
to your comments
 on the blogs
 you visit/comment
 on

way to go, Blogger!

 I hope
 that
Blogger
reconsiders
returns the right
to choose
 to us
 the bloggers

Stepping off my soap box
here's a photo to make up for all that whining

this is midway across the Brooklyn Bridge looking across the East River at the Manhattan Bridge
those bikes are rentals did I mention you can ride your bike or a rented bike across the bridge?
You can.

 if
 you have recently
 learned
 you've
turned
into
a 'no-reply'
 here's a fabulous tutorial
 to get you back
 where you want to be
 the blogger,
Jenniffier,
 who did this
 has a great blog
so check her out too!

  2. Your picture is a symphony in blue and silver. Very nice. I've noticed that about half of the comments I receive have suddenly gone "no reply/comment." At first I thought I'd done something to make this happen and I was worried people would think I was ignoring them and didn't appreciate their comments. But I'm now understanding that this is a Blogger issue.

  4. You chose a beautiful day to go exploring love the lighting in this photo...
a vicious circle is how this privacy thing is - no one can figure out how to protect an email without confusion and aggravation

  6. Oh don't you just love these changes that get put in 'for our own good' without any consultation or forewarning?? This is a great shot, I think the inner hipster in me always enjoys bikes aesthetically. Unfortunately the total unco in me falls off a bike as soon as I'm not riding in a straight, flat line.

  7. If I blogged lately, I might would have noticed :(

Every time I Google something, within the next few days I have a Spam about the
subject I researched. We can't hide. Hahaha

  13. Daryl, the more they try to protect us, the more convoluted things become! But the people that are posing the risk are not deterred by their efforts.
    I like this shot!

  14. That is interesting....I must check right now. I love the bike shot.

I hate it when sites do what they think is best...like Facebook's timeline that all of a sudden appeared.
