monday monologue - another parade

First
let me say
what I miss most about the weekends
 is
my Fridaycation

I am trying my best
to do even more on
Saturdays
so I can have Sundays
free
to take walks
should Toonman
opt for exercise of the cardio type
vs
sitting and yelling
at the football games
maybe
that is a form of cardio exercise
it sure raises the BP

I digress

Saturday
I spent beautifying™
 and
taking pictures
of the
Korean Day Parade/Festival

I believe at least one reader, Michelle,
was surprised
there was a
German Day Parade

I found a website
that lists
by month
the various parades
in
New York City

Click
here
if you want to see how many parades there are every month

Of course
there were
traffic detours
(I rode the subways where sharing the ride may be less odd then my last shared cab ride)
tie-ups
(including one major closing of the Brooklyn Bridge
which had nothing to do with parades and everything to do with protests)
street closings
and
lots of police
everywhere.

However
there were
also
banners
flags

Smiles
balloons
crowds

floats
with
adorable
costumed
children

marching bands

the
obligatory
police barricades

and
charming costumed greeters!

Sunday
we took a walk in the park

Thanks for stopping by
its always fun to have you along on my adventures

Tell Toonman that he has to wave his arms and stomp his feet to qualify armchair quarterbacking as cardio.

  7. Love this... so I guess in New York, if it moves you call it a parade? LOL

And that dog in the car, well, he can come live with me whenever he wants. He will be driving here, won't he? We will wait for his arrival.
