waiting patiently

This
old guy
was
waiting
outside a store
on
Broadway
a few months ago

I love
his gentle face
and
how
he has managed
to
entangle his foot and his leash
yet
seems not to mind at all

He knows his person will fix it

What a handsome boy. He looks just like my neighbour's dog, Jake.. a gentle giant who is really rather young, but walks like an old guy due to hip issues.

He's the only dog on the street that when encountering my cat with playful enthusiasm (as they all do), had the sweetness to read the feline body language (fear, caution) and assured my cat of his harmlessness by lying down to make himself smaller.. then proceeded to lick his head.

They're a great breed.

I so relate to this 'old guy' - it takes us this long to know what to put our energy into and not worry about the small things like a tangled leash - it's all good xo

what a strange photo. I feel sorry for the dog, actually.
