AND how was your first day back after the long holiday weekend?
Thanks for asking...
I woke up at 1 minute to 6 ... Husband was already up and at his computer ... no idea why he couldnt sleep ... HEH ...
I got to the office, rode the elevator to 6th floor where as I stepped into the reception lobby my eyes were blinded by a truly gross, butt ugly, faux Christmas tree trimmed in PINK ... hideous ... hellooo ... its December 1st!?!
When we 'lived' on 22, Editor of the Magazine who shared the floor with us prohibited .. nay, BANNED the hideous holiday trees, but apparently our co-inhabitants here on 6 dont mind ..
The door to our office suite has a frosted glass panel so I could see the office was dark but there was something LIT and FLASHING on my desk ... it was a menorah ... an ELECTRIC menorah ... with all candles lit and flashing ... and on the table in the center of our 'foyer' area was another hideous pink faux tree ... perhaps even uglier than the one in the reception lobby.
I didnt even take off my coat.
I walked into Boss #1's office and asked where the tree and menorah came from (as if I didnt know) ... he didnt know what I meant!!!
People, this man is brilliant but, damn, there are days I wonder how he got to his desk ... trust me the tree/menorah were there before he came in ... he just didnt 'see' them.
I said: They are outta here.
Then I called the VP of That (remember him from the move?).
He said they would be removed ASAP ... and I asked for 3 amaryllis plants - one for the table in our 'foyer', one for Millie (who I was afraid would want to keep the butt ugly pink tree) and one for Stef.
The 'tree' left a lot of glitter behind so Zorka, our crack housekeeper, vacuumed it up (Ms Dara I can vacuums?) ... she calls me either Dara or Carol ... I don't care really; she is Russian and compulsively clean.
Then I tried to get some work done .. Fedex delivery, mail room delivery .. a report due last week but on hold til this morning ... copy machine jammed ... everyone had a butt needing wiping apparently.
At 10:30 I took a sip of the coffee I got at 7:30 ... ice cold.
And then before I knew it ... it was 11:34 and I realized I hadn't had more than a sip of ice cold coffee so I went to get something for lunch ...
I think I want to go home.
